Reams to Replace Hasselhoff in
Vegas 'The Producers'
David Hasselhoff, who will soon leave the Las Vegas production of
The Producers, will be replaced by Broadway veteran Lee Roy Reams
beginning May 7th, Variety reports.
Hasselhoff (Jekyll & Hyde, "Baywatch") is leaving the role of flamboyant
director Roger DeBris due to his prior commitment as a judge on the hit
NBC show "America's Got Talent;" his final performance is on May 6th.
Reams currently plays Roger DeBris in Broadway's The Producers, and has also been seen in the role on tour. Reams, a Tony Award nominee for his performance in 42nd Street, has been seen on Broadway in Beauty and the Beast, La Cage aux Folles, the 1978 revival of Hello, Dolly! (he later directed and choreographed the 1995 revival), Lorelei, Applause and Sweet Charity. He is the resident director of the Theatre Guild's Theatre at Sea.

LAS VEGAS -- Broadway song and dance man Lee Roy Reams has inked to join the Vegas cast of "The Producers" ongoing at Paris Las Vegas.
Reams will replace David Hasselhoff in the role of flamboyant director Roger DeBris, starting May 7.
Hasselhoff, who originated the DeBris part for the Vegas version, will leave the Mel Brooks tuner on May 6 to rejoin NBC's "America's Got Talent" reality series, in which he serves as a judge.
Reams played DeBris for two years in the First National Company and currently reprises this role in the Broadway production, which is skedded to shutter April 22.
Reams is resident director of the Theatre Guild's Theatre at Sea. His Broadway bow was in "Sweet Charity," and his extensive legit credits include "42nd Street," "An Evening With Jerry Herman," and ""Hello Dolly."
